As Austria’s central non-university institution for science and research, the Austrian Academy of Sciences — ÖAW — has the mission of “promoting science in every respect.” Founded in 1847 as a learned society, today it stands for innovative basic research, interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and the dissemination of new findings, with more than 760 members and around 1,800 employees. The ÖAW initiates and maintains partnerships worldwide and represents Austria in international scientific organizations. It also cooperates with numerous institutions in the scientific sector in order to actively help shape the research landscape.

The Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) is Austria’s largest non-university institution for basic research. As part of its digital transformation, the ÖAW aims to achieve a high level of quality, efficiency and automation in digital processes — both in basic research and in administration. In the course of this development, new cross-domain projects are emerging, for which we are looking for interested and qualified specialists.

Artificial intelligence is a key topic for the future: it opens up new possibilities for scientific workflows, digital services and the further development of administrative processes. To support the continued development and expansion of AI services and AI-supported applications, we are looking for a committed individual who will actively contribute to operational projects, technology evaluations and the implementation of new solutions.
