About the company
Employer
Formunauts GmbH Number of employees
31 - 50 employees Locations
Wien We are Formunauts - a fast-growing SaaS company with a clear mission: We support more than 100 charities in Europe and Latin America in achieving their goals. Our clients include Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, WWF, Greenpeace and many more. In short: We build technology that enables real-world impact.
Your Role
As a Formunaut you'll build and pilot core technologies of our Donation SaaS platform , including mission-critical services our fundraisers rely on daily. You'll own the whole software development cycle and help shape how asmall, senior team ships software. Solve genuinely hard problems in the fundraising universe : from APIs that hold up in the field, to data processing and analysis surfacing vital information, and beyond.. What You’ll Do
- Build and ship new features across our SaaS Platform using modern approaches to backend development
- Build the services and APIs our platform needs and collaborate on data flows with our data teams
- Keep our platform and deployments stable and the quality high with automated testing
- Share your expertise in code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback
What You Bring
- We're looking for a highly skilled backend developer with proven, hands-on expertise with modern web framworks (e.g. Django REST Framework, FastAPI etc.)
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and a strong curiosity about AI technologies
- Experience building and shipping backends in production, with knowledge about web application development
- A track record of designing, building, and consuming clean, well-documented REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with Celery for async and background workloads
- Comfort with Docker and containerized deployments
- Working knowledge of CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and modern build tooling
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, and the instinct to look at performance before it becomes a problem
- A testing mindset: unit tests, integration tests, and E2E tests are part of how you ship, not an afterthought
- Bonus skill: a solid taste in bad music for the perfect sprint song
Our Engineering Culture
We work in a team with a strong sense of ownership. We value clean code, thoughtful architecture and pragmatic solutions over over-engineering. We take our work seriously because it matters - but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Trust, openness and mutual respect are core to how we collaborate, and we believe that great software is built by teams that enjoy working together. What We Offer
- Pushing what web applications are capable of, for a good cause with real impact : our services help to secure funding for the world's biggest charities such as Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Save the Children, Doctors without borders and many more.
- Join afocused team (4 backend engineers working closely with 4 frontend engineers, a PM, and a UX designer) applying an agile development process
- A lot of room for your ideas — this is a small, senior team, not a large org where good ideas get lost
- The salary range listed reflects Austria's legal minimum disclosure requirement. The actual compensation is based on your experience, and we are happy to discuss specifics early in the process
- We place great importance on a fair and inclusive work environment built on trust, mutual respect, and collaboration. Diversity is a key factor in our success. That's why we foster a team that brings together different backgrounds, perspectives, and talents.
- Time and space for technical quality, refactoring and sustainable solutions
